A brand new addition to the Tarka range, the Aagrah Lahsen base takes it's name from the ethnic word for garlic. This dish originates from Peshawar and has a spicy heat and unique taste. Lahsen Tarka is fantastic with chicken and chopped bell peppers. We absolutely love this one!

Ingredients: Tomatoes, onions, rapeseed oil, garlic pickle [water, garlic cloves (2%), rapeseed oil, sugar, ground spices, salt, sultanas, dates, dried onion, garlic puree (0.2%), acides (acetic acid, lactic acid), mustard powder, green chillies, ginger puree], garlic (4%), ginger, chilli powder, salt, turmeric, green chilli, garam masala, lime juice concentrate, ground coriander, fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves, sugar. For allergens, see ingredients in bold.

Creating your delicious Lahsen - Great with chicken, fish or vegetables

  1. Add 2 desserts spoons of oil into a pan and heat, add 400g of your chosen meat/vegetables and fry until browned. To make your Lahsen really special add a couple of chopped green chillies.
  2. Stir in the base, add 70ml of water to the jar, replace lid, swirl around and add this to the pan.
  3. Bring to the boil with the lid on and simmer gently for approx. 10 mins or until thoroughly cooked – delicious!

    I love aagrah sauces but..

I love all aagrah sauces but I am finding some too hot and am having difficulty taking the chilli heat out. I opened the Lahsen sauce and it smelt amazing. I really tried hard adding vegetables and potato and cream. It helped a bit but was still too hot. I made naan bread which also helped to control the heat a little more.I do not know what else to do. I will continue to buy these as I love the way they far excel anything else in a jar. Please could you make them without so much chilli for those of us who cannot take the heat. Apart from that these sauces are superb!!
