Tikka Masala Biryani

In this recipe we are making a Tikka Masala Biryani using chicken drumsticks. Using chicken drumsticks in a biryani is a great way to make an easy tasty dish. 

Chicken Tikka Masala Biryani

This mouth watering chicken tikka biryani recipe is wonderfully flavourful and fragrant – and simple enough to become a family favourite in no time. This biryani dish is made using Aagrah Tikka Masala Tarka sauce and chicken drumsticks.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken drumsticks

  • Aagrah Tikka Masala Tarka Sauce

  • 200g basmati rice

  • 3 tbsp yoghurt

  • ½ cucumber

  • ½ red onion

  • ½ white onion

  • 6 plum tomatoes

  • Handful coriander

  • A few mint leaves

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1 red chilli

Directions

  1. Boil the rice

  2. Add all of the Tikka Masala jar to the chicken drumsticks

  3. Add 3 tablespoons of yoghurt and mix.

  4. Mix well and refrigerate.

  5. Cut the onions finely,

  6. Add a dash of oil to a pan.

  7. Add the onions and salt to taste.

  8. Fry onions until brown.

  9. Add the chicken to the pan.

  10. Cook the chicken for approx 15 mins on medium heat.

  11. To make the raita chop tomatoes in halves.

  12. Cut the cucumber into small cubes.

  13. Finely chop the coriander and mint.

  14. Finely slice the garlic.

  15. Finely chop the chilli.

  16. Add all the ingredients to a plate.

  17. Add the yoghurt and mix.

  18. The rice should now be ready. Layer the rice onto the cooked chicken.

  19. Garnish with some fried onions, coriander and chilli.

  20. Add the raita, serve and enjoy!
